In the same distribution locations teams conduct awareness raising sessions to beneficiaries on the use of the ceramic filters and hygiene promotion in groups before beneficiaries received their WASH items. It is worth mentioning that CARE Yemen in partnership with OXFAM Novb, War Child, IRC, ZOA and Save the Children is implementing the Dutch Relief Alliance (DRA) | Yemen Joint Response 3 designed in alignment with the 2017 Humanitarian Needs Overview for Yemen. YJR3 has adopted three of the four Strategic Objectives for Yemen as set out by the 2017 Yemen Humanitarian Response Plan, reflecting the DRA focus on saving lives in emergencies and ensuring an effective humanitarian response where members commit to saving lives; ensuring equity and consideration for gender, age, and protection concerns at all stages of the programme life-cycle; and coordination and learning as a means to achieve more than the sum of each individual programme. YJR3 activities in each sector contribute to one or more of these objectives, with a focus on three sectors: Food Security and Livelihoods (FSL); Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH); and Health, with Gender\\\/Protection mainstreamed at all stages of the programme cycle and efforts for adapted programming to better address the specific needs of the sick or elderly, women, pregnant women, girls and boys.
