At the beginning of 2022, Lay Lay\u2019s family got caught in the middle of the fighting in her home village in Kayah. They sheltered at the nearby village for a few months, and when the fighting became calm, they all returned home. However, on a day in November 2022, she got the shocking news that her uncle was passed away around 9 in the morning. While her whole family was saddened to prepare for the funeral, they heard a loud explosion as the heavy artillery started dropping into the village at around noon. Adding fuel to the fire, Lay Lay and her family had to quickly run with her uncle\u2019s dead body and finish the funeral at a safe place immediately.
