Dutch Relief Alliance partners, in samenwerking met het Nederlandse ministerie van Buitenlandse Zaken, bereiden zich voor op de lancering van een Acute gewrichtsreactie om mensen te helpen die dringend humanitaire hulp nodig hebben in Gaza. Als gevolg van de escalatie van het geweld neemt de humanitaire crisis snel in omvang toe. Mensen hebben beperkte of geen toegang tot basisbehoeften zoals water, voedsel, gezondheidszorg en onderdak.
Life-saving activities will be implemented in the Gaza Strip and include Water, Sanitation and Hygiene support, Protection including psychosocial support, healthcare and Multipurpose Cash Assistance. The Joint Response targets 50.296 individuals.
The current total siege of Gaza and bombing of civilian areas have severely impeded humanitarian access. Response partners are preparing the response to start as soon as the situation allows and will last for six months.
Dutch Relief Alliance partners are calling on all parties to protect civilians and to ensure safe and unhindered access for humanitarian actors. We strongly emphasise the responsibility of all parties to uphold international humanitarian law.
