Dutch Relief Alliance Statement on Gaza Ceasefire

The Dutch Relief Alliance acknowledges the potential ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hamas, which allegedly includes the release of hostages and prisoners and the opening of borders for humanitarian aid. Our teams in Gaza are ready to immediately scale up the delivery of essential assistance, including medication, medical supplies, materials for repairing water infrastructure, nutrition support and psychosocial support.

Trucks loaded with emergency relief items are waiting at the border, and from our warehouses in Jordan and Egypt we are prepared to deliver additional humanitarian aid to those in need in Gaza. For the past two years, people in Gaza have been deprived of adequate food, medicine, clean drinking water, and other life-saving essentials.

With all the additional flexible resources from the Ministerie van Buitenlandse Zaken, we can continue our humanitarian response. To effectively meet the urgent needs of people in Gaza, a permanent ceasefire and unhindered and safe access for aid deliveries, as well additional funding, are essential to scale up our life-saving operations.
