Delivering Life-Saving and Early Recovery Assistance in Afghanistan

The Afghanistan Joint Response funded by the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs was initiated in 2016, following the large influx of Afghans returning from Pakistan. The consortium continued its humanitarian activities funded by the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs until the end of 2019, delivering life-saving and early recovery assistance in Afghanistan through a variety of national and international aid agencies.

To increase the effectiveness of the assistance, collaboration and learning was encouraged and the consortium received support from different Dutch Relief Alliance working groups in the Netherlands. National and international organizations participating in Afghanistan’s Joint Response considered the consortium a unique mechanism to provide humanitarian assistance.
