Responding to the most urgent needs in Central African Republic

The Central African Republic appears in the top regions of many unenviable lists when it comes to poverty, number of violent incidents, displaced people and humanitarian emergencies. Since civil war broke out in 2014, the situation deteriorated rapidly and alarmingly for hundreds of thousands of people.

Since that time, a consortium of aid organisations from the Netherlands has been responding to the crisis. The Dutch Relief Alliance carried out seven so-called joint responses in various parts of the country, providing life-saving support. Cordaid has led all these joint responses and implemented the activities together with seven other organisations.
